For western Asturias, Pola de Somiedo and the villages inside the park; for the Senda del Oso, Proaza or Santo Adriano; for Cantabria, Potes and the villages of Liébana.
A place adapted to responsible watching: early hours, information about the viewpoints, its own routes and practices that minimise the impact on the bear (sealed bins, no baiting).
A rural cottage is roughly €70–150 per night depending on the season; hotels in Proaza or Potes, between €80 and €160. In summer and on long weekends, book months ahead.
